Schuylkill Commissioners: Rest Haven may need to be sold

Schuylkill County's nursing home, Rest Haven, is bleeding so much red ink commissioners believe selling it may be the only option.

"It's just no longer sustainable, " said Chairman Frank Staudenmeier. "We need to make a decision very soon. We need to stop the bleeding."

Staudenmeier spoke after a special meeting Tuesday morning, at which commissioners agreed to allocate the nursing home $849,825, and also increase its expenditure account by $90,825.
