Police respond to stabbing report at Holiday Pocono

Police from throughout Carbon and Monroe counties raced to a reported stabbing late Saturday night in Holiday Pocono, Kidder Township.

The incident began around 10:30 p.m. when it was reported of a possible fight with a man brandishing a machete. When Kidder Township police arrived at 34 Tanglewood Drive they were confronted by a male who they immediately forced to the ground. They called for backup and said they were holding the man at gun point.

The man was then reported to have been stabbed in the chest and the immediate area was covered in blood, according to scanner reports.

 Responding additional units were officers from Pocono Mountain regional police, state troopers from Fern Ridge barracks, Hickory Run State Park rangers and Jim Thorpe Police.

Holiday Pocono is a gated community along Route 534,  two miles west of Route 903 in Albrightsville.
