Two people face multiple hearings on drug charges
Two people had multiple preliminary hearings scheduled before District Judge Stephen Bayer of Tamaqua last week.
Eugene Bushick II, 32, of 21 Highland Park Place, Mahanoy City, was in court to answer to charges filed by McAdoo patrolman Steven Homanko in connection with incidents on Feb. 1 and 7. In both cases the charges were possession of controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He elected to waive his hearings.
Bushick was released on his own recognizance.
Kelsey Anderson, 21, care of 45 W. Phillips St., Coaldale, also had two hearings scheduled and elected to waive the cases to Schuylkill County court. In a May 2 case, she was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and disorderly conduct by Tamaqua Cpl. Dwayne Hacker. Tamaqua patrolman Christopher Cruz charged Anderson with possession of drug paraphernalia after a May 16 incident.
Bail in the first case was set at $5,000 percentage.
Other cases scheduled before Judge Bayer last week included:
Jesse Lee Farber, 28, of 230 Green St., Tamaqua, waived a hearing on charges of simple assault and harassment filed by Tamaqua patrolman Karl Harig. The charges were filed following an April 26 incident.
He was released on $10,000 bail.
Janel L. Solarek, 19, care of 540 N. Laurel St., Hazleton, elected to waive a hearing on charges stemming from a May 2 incident. She was charged with simple assault and harassment by Tamaqua patrolman Joseph Krebs.
She was released on $5,000 unsecured bail.
Allen Keith Meckes, 45, of 525 Willing St., Tamaqua waived a hearing on charges of simple assault and harassment. The charges were from an April 27 incident and were filed by Tamaqua patrolman Thomas Rodgers.
He was released on $5,000 unsecured bail.
