Torrential rains caused flooding in the first floor and basement of the Tamaqua Historical Society Museum on West Broad Street.

Mountainside springs flowed into the basement, filling it with about 3 feet of water that required help from Tamaqua firefighters to pump it out.

The first floor accumulated about 3 inches of water due to seepage in the building's rear walls.

Volunteers met later to remove items damaged by the flood.
