Published July 01. 2014 01:23PM

A 10-year-old girl who went missing from her Summit Hill home at about 11 a.m.Tuesday was found safe just a few blocks away three hours later.

Brandi Barbera was spotted leaning against a car at Fell and Pine Street by a couple driving past.

The couple, Timothy and Heather Heffelfinger of Summit Hill, had seen the news on Facebook about her disappearance.
She was living in a foster care home in Summit Hill for about three weeks.

Her foster father, Steve Stone, said she left after getting angry.

A search was initiated by the Diligence Fire Company in Summit Hill, Lansford Fire Department, Northeast Search and Rescue, the Carbon County Emergency Management Agency, fire police, and volunteers who scoured the area on 4-wheelers, in vehicles, and on foot.
