Two drivers facing DUI charges
Two drivers are facing driving under the influence charges following two separate incidents on Sunday, Jan. 26.
State police at Lehighton said Paul Douglas Weber, 53, of Lehighton, was stopped in the area of Bridge Street, Weissport, during a regulatory checkpoint about 5:15 p.m. He was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance. He was subsequently arrested, troopers said.
Kevin Patrick Gillespie, 36, of Jim Thorpe, was stopped about 9:19 p.m. in the area of Route 903 near Hatchery Road in Penn Forest Township for a vehicle code violation. He was found to be under the influence of alcohol and was subsequently arrested.
