State police at Frackville said James Edward Davis Jr., 21, of Hazleton, entered the Sears store in the Schuylkill Mall, New Castle Township, about 3:06 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 27, and removed eight pairs of Levi 569 blue jeans from a clothes rack and exited the store without paying for them.

He was observed fleeing in a black Chevrolet Avalanche, which did not have a tailgate, troopers noted.
