Tamaqua hires coaches

The Tamaqua School Board met Tuesday, where they made the following coaching hires; Michael Luna, who was previously the assistant middle school track and field coach, will now be the head coach at a stipend of $1,449. He replaces Thomas Messerschmidt, who resigned as head coach, but will stay on as assistant coach at a stipend of $1,068. Jillian Barron was also re-hired as varsity softball coach at a stipend of $2,993. David Holmes, who was previously a volunteer wrestling coach, was hired as assistant wrestling coach at a stipend of $1,250.
