A Schuylkill County man was jailed on Tuesday, Jan. 28, following an incident in a wooded area north of Darkwater Road in New Castle Township.

State police at Frackville said Jonathan James Kintzel, 31, of Pottsville, and another male, not identified by police, were found by security personnel of the Reading Anthracite Company, on company property at the above location about 9:30 a.m.

A fire had been built and they were burning plastic off copper pieces of wiring.

The two did not have permission to be on the property. Kintzel's truck was also found on the property and in it was a firearm. Kintzel is a convicted felon and by law is not allowed to possess a firearm.

Troopers took Kintzel into custody on firearm and criminal trespass charges.

He was arraigned before District Judge David A. Plachko, of Port Carbon, and committed to the county prison after failing to post 10 percent of $15,000 bail.
