Carbon club cited by liquor board

A Carbon County club has been cited by the Wilkes-Barre enforcement office of the state liquor control board for violation of the state liquor code.

Legion Post 304 Home Association, 20 W. Sixth St., Jim Thorpe, was cited for the period of April 5 through Aug. 27, 2013, for failure to operate small games of chance in conformity with the small games of chance act and also for during the period of April 28 and Aug. 21 through Aug. 26, 2013, for failure to operate bingo in conformity with Title 10 of the bingo law.

These charges will be brought before an administrative law judge who has the authority to impose penalties ranging from $50 to $1,000 for minor offenses and up to $5,000 for more serious ones. In addition, the judge can impose a license suspension or revocation based on the severity of the charge brought.
