Tamaqua woman injured in crash

A Tamaqua woman was injured and taken to a Lehigh Valley area hospital following a one-vehicle crash that occurred about 10:05 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 22, along Route 443 (Clamtown Road) east of Wildcat Road, in Walker Township.

State police at Frackville said Tara Lynn Jones, 35, was driving a 2008 Infiniti Q56 westbound when the vehicle left the road onto the north berm and struck a guide rail.

After impact the Infiniti continued down a small embankment and struck a utility pole where it came to rest.

Jones was taken by ambulance to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, for treatment. Assisting troopers at the scene were volunteers from Walker Township and Tamaqua fire companies, New Ringgold ambulance personnel, and police from West Penn and Walker townships.

Troopers noted Jones will be cited under the vehicle code for the crash.
