Summit Hill police investigate burglaries

Summit Hill police is looking for information on two burglaries that took place in the borough recently.

Chief Joseph Fittos said that the department is investigating the two incidents, which occurred at the Park View Inn, 204 W. Ludlow St., and Sommers Inn, 50 W. Ludlow St.

The burglary at Park View Inn happened on Jan. 13. Fittos explained someone entered the establishment and took an unspecified amount of cash.

The second incident at Sommers occurred sometime between 7:30 p.m. Sunday and 8 a.m. Monday. In that burglary, someone entered the business, took an unspecified amount of cash, as well as cigarettes and broke into a number of machines.

Fittos asked that anyone with information regarding either of these burglaries to contact Summit Hill police at 570-645-7429.

The department is also investigating the theft of two ATVs from garages on the east side of town. Both thefts occurred on Dec. 29.

Fittos said they are pursuing leads on the thefts and asks anyone with information to contact police.
