State police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks are investigating a number of thefts that occurred during a spree between 3 and 6 a.m. Jan. 10 in Tower City.

Police said the scene of the incident is located on multiple roadways, alleys, backyards, front porches and driveways in Tower City, Porter Township.

Police said a man between the ages of 20-30, described as being 5-9, 175 pounds and wearing dark clothing, was seen checking parked vehicles for unlocked door handles, and would steal anything of value that he found in unlocked vehicles.

Police said a witness saw the man at about 3:53 a.m., at which time he fled the scene, heading east on Route 209 and then south bound through a private backyard.

Police said it is believed the man returned to the criminal activities and stole loose change from a vehicle owned by Andrea Thompson, 41, of Tower City.
