Experience the essence of Woody and sing along with a dozen of his greatest songs at The Mauch Chunk Opera House, 14 W. Broadway, Jim Thorpe at 8:30 p.m. Friday.
An accomplished playwright and Broadway actor, Noojin's one man show has opened to great revues as he brings his tour of the Northeast.
His captivating solo play with music, tells of the life and travels of America's legendary singer songwriter in a multi-media presentation, a masterful recreation of Woody Guthrie's persona and musical style matched with a powerful narrative delivers a spot-on portrayal of the voice for the most influential songwriter in American folk music.
Based on Guthrie's vast writings, Noojin creates an intimate visit with the spirit of Woody.
His Guthrie is not just a folksy cardboard caricature: it's ornery, pugnacious, sly, and driven by the twin forces of anger and love. Directed at the political and economic injustice he sees all around him, "Hard Tavelin' with Woody" demonstrates the bottomless love Guthrie had for his country and its people.
