The Jim Thorpe Community Watch meetings will begin on Feb. 20. They will be held at 7 p.m. on the third Thursday of the month, at Memorial Park.

Holter will do a presentation on identity theft.• March 20: Justin Markell will do a tour or presentation on the Carbon County Communications Center.• April 17: Magistrate Ed Lewis will do a presentation on the criminal justice system.• May 15: Janene M. Holter and Helene Katz will do a presentation on child predators and the social networks.• June 19: Jim Thorpe Police Chief Joseph Schatz will do a presentation on drugs.• July 17: Carol Alonge will do a presentation on traffic safety.• Aug. 21: Trooper Sannie will do a presentation on gangs in the area.• Sept. 18: Officer Matt Schwarz will do a presentation on DUIs.• Oct. 16: Awards ceremony and last meeting of the year.
