Concert rescheduled

The double-header concert by Blue Oyster Cult and Foghat at Penn's Peak has been rescheduled for Friday, May 2.It originally had been slated to be held on April 5.Penn's Peak management says all tickets purchased for the April event will be honored at the May 2 concert.Rhonda Vincent setto release new albumCountry and bluegrass singer Rhonda Vincent, who is coming to Penn's Peak on March 22, will soon release a new album.The album, "Only Me," is set for release on Jan. 28.It's one of Vincent's finest productions with two CDs, one with bluegrass tunes and the other with country songs.Sticking with her musical roots, Rhonda is joined by Daryle Singletary on "We Must Have Been Out of Our Minds," while Willie Nelson adds vocals and a guitar solo to the title track."The Bluegrass pickers on this song are some of the best that I have ever heard. When I think of Bluegrass, this is the sound that I hear," says Willie Nelson. "Rhonda's voice is beautiful. I am thankful for her letting me be a part of it all."This is Vincent's first stop at Penn's Peak.And, speaking of Vincent, Rhonda Vincent & The Rage, the most awarded band in bluegrass, could be adding more awards to their prestigious list of honors as they have been nominated for 6 SPBGMA awards.Phil Vassar performstomorrow eveningThe next event at Penn's Peak is a concert Saturday night by talented performer and song-writer Phil Vassar.The show starts at 8 p.m. and tickets are $22 and $27.There are expected to be tickets available at the door, but the concert promises to be well attended.This is a return appearance for Vassar, best known for his songs "Carlene," "Bye Bye," "Little Red Rodeo," and his number-one recorded song "Just Another Day in Paradise."Opening for him will be Leah Burkey.Cracker Barrel hasnew Vince Gill CDCracker Barrel Old Country Store will release Bakersfield: Deluxe Edition, an exclusive and expanded edition of the critically-acclaimed album from 20-time GRAMMY Award-winning artist Vince Gill and famed steel guitarist, Paul Franklin, on Monday, Jan. 27.The album pays tribute to the "Bakersfield" sound by performing songs from two of Bakersfield's favorite musical sons, Buck Owens and Merle Haggard.Bakersfield: Deluxe Edition will contain four additional songs (for a total of 14) and will retail for $11.99 at all Cracker Barrel Old Country Store® locations and online at crackerbarrel.com.
