Mountain Karate Academy honored at conference

The Eastern USA International Martial Arts Association recently held its 26th annual conference. Members of the Mountain Karate Academy staff and students attended and received awards during the Black Belt Hall of Fame awards dinner.

Recipients were: Master Paul Maglionico for inspirational martial arts leadership, Master Lee Lesisko for silver anniversary achievement, Master Kevin Kresge for master instructor of the year, Master Jan Kresge for inspirational martial arts example, Master Steve Meining for male black belt competitor, instructor Kim Fitzpatrick for inspirational martial arts example, Cassie Williams for Youth Award: Dedication to the Martial Arts, and Sharyl Maglionico for outstanding contribution. Sharyl was the first non-martial artist ever to receive an award from the EUSAIMAA. She is the administrator for both Mountain Karate locations, in Lehighton and Tannersville.

The Eastern USA International Martial Arts Association is the world's largest Martial Arts Association, having membership in over 70 countries. Every November martial artists from all over the world all meet in Pittsburgh for a weekend of learning and fellowship. This year's conference was held at the Embassy Suites in Pittsburgh.
