Chestnuthill Township supports Deputy Phil program for students

The Chestnuthill Township supervisors voted, 3-0, to give a donation of $499 toward the Deputy Phil workbook.

The Deputy Phil program educates school children about safety, crime prevention, values and responsibility in a way they will understand and remember.

The Chestnuthill Township Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 15 at the Chestnuthill Township Park building on Route 715.

Members will be working on the plans for the second annual Community Day. The historical society is open to anyone.

The Pennsylvania State Police responded to 329 calls in Chestnuthill Township in December.

There were eight assaults, seven burglaries, 49 false alarms, 38 collisions, six sex offenses, 17 deaths investigated, four DUI arrests and 51 traffic citations.

The West End Volunteer Fire Company responded to 91 calls in December.
