Hosler chairs Schuylkill supers

Charles Hosler will serve as the new chairman of the Schuylkill Township Board of Supervisors following Monday night's reorganizational meeting. Newcomer Charles "Chuck" Fayash and Christine Verdier round out the rest of the board, with Verdier serving as vice chairman.

Mary Bubel will continue in her role as the township's secretary/treasurer and garbage fee collector at $13 per hour, with a 2% bonus on collected garbage fees. Hosler was appointed as roadmaster, with a dissenting vote from Fayash. Verdier was appointed as the police liaison. Jennifer Dempsey will continue as the township's police officer at a rate of $15 per hour at 29 hours a week.Maintenance department wages were set at $14 per hour, with Joe Pedron receiving $15 per hour. Michael Greek will continue to serve as the township solicitor at a rate of $90 per hour. Alfred Benesch and Associates were reappointed as the township engineers, while Arro Engineering and Environmental Consultants will continue as the township's planning/ zoning consultants and UCC code enforcement officers. Burke and Burke was retained as legal representation for the zoning board. John Bashago was appointed to the zoning board for a three-year term. Frank Fabrizio was appointed to a three-year term on the planning board and Nancy Thompson was appointed to the vacancy board.
