Chair falls out of pickup truck

State police at the Lehighton barracks said the driver of a pickup truck, from which a chair fell off its back causing an accident, never stopped at the scene.

The incident happened at 5 p.m. Dec. 22 on Route 903 in the area of Behrens Road in Penn Forest Township.

Police said a dark-colored truck bearing a Pa. registration plate was traveling west on Route 903 when a plastic chair fell from the rear bed onto the roadway and was struck by a 2002 Ford Focus driven by Joseph C. Carney, 29, of Jim Thorpe. Police said the Carney vehicle sustained minor damages to its front bumper and passenger side fog light.

Police said the pickup truck continued west on Route 903.
