Commissioners George Halcovage and Gary Hess admire the Christmas tree placed on the main floor in the Schuylkill County Courthouse. The tree normally each year is decorated by clerks in the "row" offices but this year the honor was given to students from all the public and parochial school districts in the county plus Panther Valley School District in Carbon County. It was part of the project initiated at the Youth Summit Student Conference held last spring at the courthouse, an inovation initiated by Commissioner Hess and sponsored by the county commissioners. The second annual conference will be held in March. The concolor fir was donated by the Schuylkill County Bar Association and came from the Leonard's Tree Farm in Seltzer. The Christmas balls on the tree are the colors of the schools.
