Arthur A. Berger, 86, of Lehighton, was injured in a one-vehicle crash at 9:55 a.m. Dec. 22 on Lovitt Road in Towamensing Township.

State police at the Lehighton barracks said he sustained a minor head injury and was transported to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, by the Palmerton EMS.

Police said he was driving a 2004 Lincoln Town Car east on Lovitt Road when it traveled into the eastbound lane while attempting to negotiate a curve in the roadway.

Police said Berger lost control of the vehicle and it traveled off the north side of the road, continuing another 75 feet off the roadway and striking several trees and brush. The vehicle came to rest against a tree facing northeast.

Police said the vehicle sustained disabling damages and was towed from the scene.

In addition to the Palmerton EMS, police were assisted at the scene by the Towamensing Fire Police and Fire Department and Schlier's Towing.
