Vehicle crashes into home

A vehicle crashed into a home during a snow storm, according to state police at Fern Ridge.

Troopers said the accident occurred on Thursday, Jan. 2, about 6:51 p.m. at 332 Merwinsburg Road in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County.

Troopers said Todd S. Henderson, 49, of West Point, Montgomery County, was operating a 2012 Jeep Wrangler Sport when it left the road and crashed into the home. Henderson was not injured, but the Jeep had to be towed from the scene. Troopers did not name the homeowner or what damage was done to the residence.

Troopers said Henderson was cited for driving a vehicle at an (un) safe speed.

Troopers also reported on a crash that occurred Thursday along Interstate 80 in Kidder Township, Carbon County at about 4:46 p.m. Troopers said Zhiwen Ouyang, 24, of Kent, Ohio, and Krzysztof Pasciak, 39, of Wayne, N.J., were both westbound in the right lane. Ouyang began to lose control of his 2012 Mercedes-Benz C250 and it was struck by Pasciak's 2005 Volkswagen VVN on the rear passenger side. After impact the Mercedes spun clockwise and struck the guide rail along the berm. Damages were disabling to the Mercedes.

A passenger with Ouyang, Yang Lei, 21, also of Kent, sustained a minor injury but did not require immediate medical attention.
