A Coaldale resident has been arrested for operating a methamphetamine lab in his home.

Coaldale Police busted the meth lab at 11 E. Ruddle St., at approximately 5 p.m. today.

According to reports, police learned of the lab through a tip earlier Friday afternoon and secured a search warrant hours later.

Within minutes of executing that warrant, it became apparent that methamphetamine was being produced in the half double home. Resident Jason Shiffert, 33, was arrested and the State Police Clandestine Lab Response Team was notified.

Multiple charges have been filed against Shiffert, who is being lodged in the Schuylkill County Prison in lieu of bail.
