A birthday party to an engagement party

On Dec. 22, 2013 I went to a cookie swap that turned into a birthday party that turned into an engagement party.
The day started as a normal Saturday, he went into work while I spent the day at home making Christmas cookies. I was making the cookies for a party later that night at his Dad's house. His Dad decided since his birthday is right before Christmas, he would have a big cookie swap. Unfortunately, for me I spent the previous night celebrating my friend's 21st birthday, so I wasn't feeling the best.
When we got to the party, Corey's entire family was there, their family friends, and my family. We spent about three hours at the party, which the entire time everyone told me I should go home since I was so tired from the previous night. We finally went home and Corey asked me if I would let the dog out while he changed the sheets on the bed.
When I came upstairs he grabbed my hands. Corey said, "Katherine, you know how much I love you and you know I want to spend my life with you." Which I stated yes to both. He then reached his hand into the closet and grabbed a box. He got down on one knee and said "Will you spend the rest of your life with me and marry me?" I, of course, stated yes.
Afterward, we called my grandparents in Indiana with the good news, which they thought I was running away and getting married that night, and asked if I needed money. After we told them, no, we were going to do a planned wedding.
Corey then informed me we needed to go back to his Dad's house. I asked why and he said because that was our engagement party. Here the entire reason everyone was pushing me out the door was because they wanted us to get home so he would propose to me.
When we walked into his Dad's house we were greeted with everyone taking pictures and handing us champagne glasses. Both our Dad's gave speeches and everyone drank wine and partied the rest of the night.
