Nursing home restrictions in place

Symptoms of coughs and colds are making rounds at The Summit Nusing facility, Lehighton.

At the center, visitors and residents mingling in the hallways are required to wear a mask.

"We're not restricting visitors," said a spokesperson at the first floor nursing station. "We want our residents to stay in their rooms, but if they come out in the hallway, we want them to wear a mask for their own protection. It's a precaution because there are a few residents who are still sick."

Mahoning Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Lehighton has no restrictions on visitors at this time.
