Tamaqua driver uninjured in crash

Published February 12. 2014 05:00PM

A Tamaqua driver was uninjured in a one-vehicle crash that occurred at 11 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 10, along Catawissa Road, in Walker Township.

State police at Frackville said Gage P. Dotterer, 22, was driving a 1999 Dodge 2500 truck northbound and veered toward the right shoulder to allow oncoming traffic to pass on the narrow road. The front right tire of the truck traveled into the snow and slush covered shoulder which pulled it further to the right.

The front right corner of the truck then struck a roadside mailbox and the right tire brushed against a utility pole. This caused the steering gear of the truck to break, troopers said.

The Dodge had to be towed from the scene.
