Woman cited after traffic stop

Published February 08. 2014 09:00AM

A Hazleton woman was cited by McAdoo Police following a Dec. 27, 2013 incident.

Patrolman William Curilla was on patrol at 2:38 a.m. when he observed a silver Ford Taurus with a non-working brake light. He conducted a traffic stop on North Kennedy Drive and identified the driver as Milinda Kessler of Hazleton. When Kessler opened the car window, the officer detected a strong odor of marijuana. A records check determined Kessler's driver's license had expired as of Oct. 24, 2013.

She failed several field sobriety tests, then refused to submit to any further testing.

She was cited for driving under the influence of a controlled substance
