Sesquicentennial parade planned in Slatington

Published February 07. 2014 05:01PM

Slatington 150th Parade Committee invites people to participate in the Slatington Sesquicentennial Anniversary Parade on Saturday, Aug. 16. The parade will step off promptly at noon.

The theme "Past, Present and Future," was chosen as the theme, in recognition of the past, present and future of Slatington.

The goal is to present a parade with the highest standards of quality, performance and conduct. Therefore, the committee reserves the right to determine which units will be accepted and asks that everyone read the application carefully.

Those planning to participate will be asked to describe their parade unit.

Application deadline is July 19 in order to receive placement and listing in the program brochure.

Unauthorized units will not be permitted in the parade.

Those participating will receive a parade line up number, map of the parade route and other instructions about two weeks before the parade. All correspondence will be sent to the contact person listed on the application.

For any other information or questions, call Parade Committee Chairman Lawrence D. Eckert Jr., at 484-661-6108 or
