Schuylkill crashes

State police at Frackville reported on two crashes investigated by troopers on Monday, Feb. 3, in Schuylkill County.

Troopers said a crash occurred about 6:09 a.m. along Interstate 81 in Kline Township. Troopers said John Gottshall Jr., 55, of Plymouth, Luzerne County, was driving a 2004 Toyota Tundra southbound in the right lane when he lost control due to icy road conditions.

The pickup truck went onto the west berm and struck the guide rail. It came to rest on the west berm facing north.

Gottshall was injured and taken to Hazleton General Hospital by McAdoo ambulance. Troopers said he will be cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.

The second crash occurred about 10:38 a.m. along Route 924 in East Union Township. Jennifer L. Fisher, 34, of Sheppton, was driving a 2002 Chrysler Sebring northbound when the car left the road and struck a tree along the west berm.

Fisher sustained a minor injury and was taken to Hazleton General Hospital for treatment. The car had to be towed from the scene.

Fisher was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
