A Newkirk man wanted by Tamaqua police on two domestic assault incidents, as well as parole violations, was arrested Thursday evening, Jan. 30, when he returned to his alleged victim's home.

James Joseph Englert, 37, went to 324 Van Gelder St., around 6:30 p.m. Officers received a tip and responded to the home where they found Englert hiding behind a couch. He was arrested without incident and transported to the Schuylkill County prison in Pottsville by an officer with the Schuylkill County Adult Probation Office.Police charged him with simple assault and harassment in connection with incidents on June 29, and Dec. 29, 2013.
