Car seat check in Lehighton

Published August 30. 2014 03:32PM

A free car seat checkup at Walmart, 1204 Blakeslee Blvd., Lehighton, will be held from 1 to 7 p.m., on Sept. 16. The event is sponsored by Blue Mountain Health System and the Pennsylvania State Police.

A safety specialist will be on hand to make sure the seat has not been recalled, if it is installed correctly in the vehicle and that the child fits properly into the seat. They will also provide information on new updates on car seat recommendations, as well as when to turn a baby's car seat around to face forward in the vehicle and when a child should use a booster seat.

Parents are asked to bring the child who uses the car seat to the checkup.

The event will be held rain or shine.
