Jim Thorpe man injured in cycle crash

A Carbon County motorcyclist was seriously injured Sunday evening when he was involved in a crash along Valley Road just west of Mountain Road in Walker Township, Schuylkill County.
State police at Frackville said Mark Goff, 39, of Jim Thorpe, was operating a 2006 Honda motorcycle westbound at 6:12 p.m. at a high rate of speed when he failed to negotiate a slight left-hand curve.
The bike went onto the right shoulder and struck an embankment, causing the bike to flip several times before coming to rest in the middle of the road.
Goff was flown to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest with what troopers said were major injuries.
Damages to the bike were considered major.
Troopers said Goff will be cited for several motor vehicle code violations including driving while license suspended or revoked, driving a vehicle at an unsafe speed, careless driving and operation of a vehicle without official certification of inspection.
Reportedly Goff was riding with a group of bikers.
Troopers also said the bike was removed from the scene by Goff's family members.
