A Schuylkill County man was shot outside his home on Monday morning. Police are calling the incident an attempted homicide.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Richard Behney, 34, of 64 Fisher Road, Pine Grove, exited his home at 6:30 a.m. and walked to his vehicle when he was shot. He was struck on his right hand and left buttocks area. Behney then fled back inside his home.Behney was treated at the scene by Pine Grove EMS unit and Pottsville paramedics and then transported to the Reading hospital.Troopers said their investigation indicates the assailant appeared to be lying in a wooded area on the east side of the driveway waiting for Behney to exit his home.Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call troopers at 570-739-1330.
