Police: Man tried to abduct girl in Weatherly

Published August 04. 2014 02:11PM

Weatherly police are looking for a man who is wanted in connection with an attempted child abduction.

According to the Weatherly Police Department Facebook page, a white male believed to be between the ages of 30 and 40, was driving a silver vehicle at 3 p.m. Sunday on Hudsondale Street when he pulled alongside a 7-year-old female who was riding her bicycle.

The man then attempted to get the girl into his vehicle. She told him “no” and started riding away.

The suspect drove next to the girl yelling for her to get into the vehicle so he could give her a ride home. The girl did not know the man so she continually refused.

When the girl made it home, she ran inside and the man drove off, heading toward Route 93.

Police said that the vehicle in question is possibly a Dodge Caliber, with a white sticker in the rear window.

Anyone with information on this vehicle is asked to call the Weatherly Police Department at 570-427-4241.
