Police probe robbery at Lehighton pharmacy

Lehighton borough police are investigating a robbery which occurred Saturday afternoon at the First National Pharmacy in Lehighton.

Chief of Police Brian Biechy said the incident happened at about 3:10 p.m. The pharmacy is located at 143 N. First St.

Police said the robber, who was alone, was described as wearing over-sized prescription glasses, black hoodie, black cargo pants and black and gray sneakers.

The clerk told police that the bandit displayed a weapon, but isn't sure what the weapon was.

The white male ran behind the counter and grabbed cash, then fled, according to police.

Biechy said anyone who might have witnessed anything unusual or has information should contact police at 610-377-4003.
