Cars collide in Rush Twp.

Emergency personnel were dispatched to the intersection of Claremont Avenue (SR309) and Tide Road, in Rush Township, around 11 p.m. Wednesday for a motor vehicle accident with injury.

The accident involved vehicles operated by David Mehlig, 27, of Weatherly, driving a Ford Crown Victoria, and Pat Clemens, 59, of Tamaqua, driving a Volkswagen.

Responding in addition to Rush Township police, were firefighters from Hometown and Tamaqua, and the Tamaqua rescue squad and ambulance.
