Preschool story hour

The Panther Valley Public Library, 117 E. Bertsch St., Lansford, offers a free, preschool story hour every Tuesday from 9:30-10:30 a.m.

Stories, snacks and activities are provided for the children.

Summit Hill

Fall tree plantings

The Summit Hill Shade Tree Commission will be conducting its fall tree plantings along the borough streets and parks on Friday, Oct. 25 and Saturday, Oct. 26. Any borough residents or businesses interested in having a tree planted in front of their property may call John Kupec at (570) 645 9644 or Lou Vermillion at (570) 645-9772 for more information. Memorial trees will also be planted.

Donations toward the cost of the trees will be accepted.

Trees will be ordered in mid-October. Volunteers on the planting days are always welcome.

Harvest Home Sunday

St. Paul's Lutheran Church will celebrate Harvest Home Sunday on Sept. 29.

Cash plate contributions will be donated to the Summit Hill food pantry. Offering envelopes will be credited to individual accounts as usual.

Sunday school is held from 9-10 a.m. followed by the worship service at 10:30 a.m. led by Vicar David Lembo.

All are welcome to attend.

Nesquehoning

PSCA to meet

The next meeting of the Protestant Slovak Cemetery Association will be held on Sunday, Sept. 29 at 2 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Nesquehoning.

Anyone with an interest in the Cemetery is invited to attend.

NCFC Ladies Auxiliary to meet

The next meeting of the New Columbus Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 1 at 7 p.m. President Gerry McConnon will preside and Rosemary Coniglio will serve as the hospitality committee.

All members are encouraged to attend.
