Car strikes tree in Mahoning

A single vehicle accident occurred shortly before 1 p.m. Wednesday on Breezewood Drive in Mahoning Township. Mahoning police said the driver of the vehicle, Jonathan Honey, 22, of Lehighton, lost control in a curve and slid off the roadway, striking a tree. As a result both unbelted front seat occupants struck the windshield sustaining head injuries. A one month old child in a rear child safety seat was properly restrained and appeared to have sustained no injuries, said police. All occupants were transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, for evaluation/treatment.
