The US209 Bridge Project dividing downtown Tamaqua is now four months old with over a year remaining. To date, workers have dismantled the road surface over one-third of the East Broad Street bridge and have dug down to the top of one of three original 1904 stone arches. The $2.5 million replacement of the three-span arch masonry bridge is expected to be finished in November, 2O14.
