Lansford Borough Council President Louis Bales said last night that all seven members of council will take lie detector tests in the ongoing investigation of a petty theft at the borough hall.
There were several reported break-ins at the Lansford Borough office on Patterson Street this spring. In one, it was reported a small amount of cash was taken.
Last night, Bales initiated the subject by teasing Bob Silver, a member of the Lansford's Concerned Citizens Committee. After Silver lodged a complaint why the Concerned Citizens were not asking questions about the alleged break-ins. "Is there something you don't want to hear?" he asked.
Silver said Bales had brought up the case himself at almost every meeting, so there was no need to ask about it.
