It was a day of fun for a number of Carbon County senior citizens Tuesday during the annual senior picnic.

During the event, which was held at the Orioles Community Center in Lehighton, 160 men and women from the five county senior centers were treated to games, prizes, dancing and a day out with friends and food.

Anne Horrigan, of the Carbon County Area Agency on Aging and the coordinator of the Carbon County Senior Games, explained that the picnic was hosted through the senior centers and Area Agency on Aging and was open to the public.

She noted that this is an annual event that helps welcome the change in season.

The hall was filled with the sounds of laughter and good times as the people gathered with friends from other centers, some of which they might have not seen since the Senior Games this past May.
