A hit-and-run driver is being sought in Schuylkill County. State police at Schuylkill Haven said the incident occurred about 9:24 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14, along SR61 in West Brunswick Township.

Troopers said Shannon M. Roman, 36, of Hamburg, was southbound driving a 2003 Kia Sedona when a driver made a right turn from the parking lot of the 3 C's restaurant without any headlights on, to go south on 61.

The Kia struck the other vehicle. After impact the other driver fled southbound.

Damages to the Kia were disabling and Roman sustained a minor injury but did not require immediate medical attention.

Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call troopers at (570) 739-1330.

Troopers also reported investigating a one-vehicle crash about 2:41 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 15, along SR209 in East Norwegian Township.

Troopers said Ellen P. Schwartz, 19, of Cressona, was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Aveo eastbound and leaving Port Carbon while negotiating a left curve. The Aveo entered a stone parking area off the eastbound lane causing Schwartz to lose control. The car re-entered the road, traveled across the westbound lane, and struck a utility pole along the berm. After impact the Aveo spun clockwise and came to rest facing east in the westbound lane.

Schwartz was injured and taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson St., Pottsville. The Aveo was towed from the scene.

Troopers cited Schwartz for driving a vehicle at an (un) safe speed.
