LALLC goes pink to promote breast cancer awareness
To promote breast cancer awareness, Lehighton Area Lioness Lions Club will sponsor its eighth Pink Light Walk on Tuesday Oct. 1 at the Lehighton Recreation Center.
Registration will begin at 5:30 p.m., warm up is at 6:30 p.m., with the walk to follow.
Participants will be walking from the Lehighton Recreation Center to the Lehighton Amphitheatre and back.
All those participating are asked to wear a pink shirt to increase awareness of breast cancer.
Angela Mims of Milford, two-time cancer survivor will be the speaker for the event.
Following the walk, light refreshments will be served and there will be a raffle.
All funds raised will support the PA Breast Cancer Coalition.
There is no charge to participate in the event. Each participant will receive a goody bag.
Vendors interested in participating at the event are asked to call Alicia at (570) 325-8685 after 5 p.m. weekdays.
There is a cost to be a vendor.
Walk participants should register by calling (610) 377-1053 or (610) 377-3685 or going to email@example.com and providing name, address, telephone number and email address and indicate whether a survivor or supporter.
Registration deadline is Sept. 23.
The Lehighton Area Lioness Lions Club supports many Lions and community projects annually. The event will be held rain or shine.
