Carbon business cited by PLCB

A Carbon County business has been cited by the Wilkes-Barre enforcement office of the state liquor control board for a violation of the liquor code.

Rivercreek, LLC, 219-221 N. First St., Lehighton, was cited for two alleged violations. Failed to return the restaurant liquor license and wholesale liquor purchase permit cards to the board after the license establishment had not been in operation for a period of 15 consecutive days between July 1 and Aug. 6.

The second violation was issuing checks or drafts dated June 7, in payment for purchases of malt or brewed beverages, when they had insufficient funds in, or credit with, the institution upon which drawn for the payment of such checks.

These charges will be brought before an administrative law judge who has the authority to impose penalties ranging from $50 to $1,000 for minor offenses and up to $5,000 for more serious ones. In addition, the judge can also impose a license suspension or revocation of the license based on the severity of the charge.
