Free car seat check slated in Lansford

Published September 07. 2013 09:00AM

A free car seat check up will be held from 1-6 p.m., on Tuesday, Sept. 17, at WMGH Radio Station, Route 209 in Lansford. The event is sponsored by Carbon County Safe Kids chapter and the Pennsylvania State Police.

Parents are asked to bring the child who uses the car seat to the check up.

A safety specialist will be on hand to make sure the seat has not been recalled, if it is installed correctly in the vehicle and that the child fits properly into the seat.

They will also provide information on new updates on car seat recommendations; as well as when to turn a baby's car seat around to face forward in the vehicle and when a child should use a booster seat.

The event will be held rain or shine.
