Playing pranks on cops can be costly
A McAdoo woman discovered that playing pranks on the police is not a very good idea.
Elizabeth Ann Ringlaben, 19, of 20 W. Washington St., apparently decided last month that it would be fun to play games of hide and seek with seven "Yield to Pedestrian" signs, which police had placed at designated areas in the borough. The signs were first placed on Aug. 12.
Later that day, as well as again on Aug. 14, 15, and 25, the signs were removed from their designated areas and placed on private lawns, along dirt roads and even moved to Audenried in Luzerne County.
A brief investigation determined that Ringlaben was the person responsible for removing the signs from where the officers had them placed. She was charged with theft, receiving stolen property, and loitering/prowling at night.
