State police at Schuylkill Haven reported on several crashes investigated by troopers on Schuylkill County roads over the past weekend.

A crash was reported at 5:50 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 25, along Helfenstein Road in Eldred Township. Troopers said Sandras L. Buffington, 50, of Valley View, was driving a 2005 Ford Mustang westbound when, for unknown reasons, she left her lane of travel, crossed into the eastbound lane and drove off the road. The car entered a wooded area off the berm and collided head-on into a tree.

Buffington was injured and taken by ambulance to the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, for treatment. She was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.

A one-vehicle crash occurred about 5:41 p.m. Friday along SR209 in East Norwegian Township. Troopers said Samantha L. Pogash, 18, of Saint Clair, was driving a 1999 Subaru Forester northbound when she saw a deer on the road ahead of her. She swerved to avoid the animal with the Forester going onto the berm and striking a utility pole. After impact the vehicle rolled over onto the passenger side then came to rest on its wheels.

Pogash sustained a minor injury and was taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson St., Pottsville. Damages were extensive to the vehicle. She was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.

A two-vehicle crash was reported at 7:55 p.m. Friday along SR61 in North Manheim Township. Troopers said Rodger D. Brown, 64, of Buck River, Tenn., driving a 2013 Kenworth Aerostar tractor with trailer, pulled into a parking lot off the road northbound. He attempted to make a U-turn from the lot to go southbound and traveled over the concrete median. When turning he drove into the path of a 2003 Toyota Avalon driven by William Sinitsky, 86, of Frackville, and a collision occurred.

No one was injured. Troopers cited Brown for driving on divided highway.

A three-vehicle, rear-end crash occurred about 11:39 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26, along SR61 in West Brunswick Township, near the intersection with SR895.

Troopers said Drew M. Reed, 22, of Strausstown, Berks County, Juan C. Polanco, 50, of Reading, and Melissa L. Lawson, 39, of Orwigsburg, were all southbound and traveling in a single lane in a construction area. Troopers said Lawson stopped for a red traffic signal and her 2005 Cadillac CTS was hit in the rear by Polanco's 1998 Subaru Outback, which had been struck in the rear by Reed's 1996 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 truck.

No one was injured. Troopers cited Reed for following too closely.

Bonacci, 62, of Reading, was northbound when a black bear entered the road in front of him. He was unable to avoid the animal and struck it with his 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt. After impact the Cobalt traveled into the southbound lane and struck a 2012 Toyota Tacoma truck driven by Scott G. Girard, 40, of Lykens, Dauphin County. No one was injured.
