A Tamaqua man's contention that he acted in self-defense when he stabbed a former Carbon County resident a year ago at the Lansford Townhouses, apparently was believed by a Carbon County jury yesterday as the members found him not guilty of the charges.

John B. Plasko, 34, of 310 Washington St., charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, and recklessly endangering another person, based his defense argument on the statements that he stabbed Steven Tessitore, 24, now residing at 120 S. Fourth St., Reading, because he feared for his life.
