A Schuylkill County man was jailed Wednesday, Oct. 23, following an assault incident.

State police at Frackville said Michael F. Jevelle, 26, of Ringtown, was arrested following an incident along Iron Street in Brandonville, East Union Township.

Troopers said Jevelle got into a verbal argument with his brother, Adam Jevelle, 20, also of Ringtown, that turned physical.

Michael Jevelle struck his brother with a fluorescent strip light. Adam Jevelle sustained minor lacerations to his hand and facial area.

Michael Jevelle was taken into custody and charged with simple assault. He was arraigned by on-call District Judge Stephen Bayer of Tamaqua, and committed to the county prison in Pottsville after failing to post 10 percent of $10,000 bail.
